The Piper Online is a space for the creative minds of NMHS to produce, publish, and promote their literary and artistic talents. Here, you can see material that doesn't fit in our annual print edition, find out more about featured artists and writers of NMHS, and get inspired by your fellow creators.

Amidst a global pandemic, The Piper is still hosting a monthly writing/art contest. We will post the prompts here and on our social media accounts (follow @piperlitmag on IG and Twitter) at the beginning of each month. Submissions will be due by the end of the month, and winners will be posted here after each activity day. Winners also receive a $15 gift card!

Last year, New Milford High School students discovered their personal identities, reflecting on who they are. However, when a bunch of individuals come and live together, it's a different story.
The 2021 edition of The Piper will explore the theme of society.
​
How does it work? Where do we fit in? Do we live in a utopia, dystopia, or a hybrid of the two, or are we simply living in a world of reality?
​
This month's prompt is all about

Be inspired. Write, create, photograph, and send us your stuff.
​
Remember, we are looking for all types of writing: fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, etc. We also accept digital media: music, podcasts, videos, etc.

Submissions due January 31st.

SUBMIT YOUR WORK TO THE PIPER
All submissions are made anonymous and then reviewed by the Piper staff. Once a submission is chosen, the author will be notified and a member of the Piper staff will work with the author to prepare for publication.
